No, not really. Irish-americans are typically white and enjoy white privilege, as am I. I cannot make nor do I wish to make a comment on black activism in any way, because I have no frame of reference for their actions. Please do not apply my words to their situation, it’s not something I am comfortable doing.

Before believing something, ask yourself:

Is this an opinion?

Can I easily fact-check this? Have I done so?

Who benefits from my belief in this? Why? What do they gain?

Is the source biased? Why? What do they gain from their point of view? Have I looked into the other side’s opinion?

Are there multiple scientific sources on the subject? What do they say? Where is their funding from?

Who is currently in a position of power in this subject? Why? How did they get there?

Do people die from action/inaction on this subject? Which side kills more human beings?

Does this belief encourage taking responsibility for one’s own behaviours?

Does this belief reduce other humans to a lesser status?

If I were treated as this belief dictates, would I feel respected?
